Both my Sprinter and my CR-V tend to drive me nuts by assuming that when I start them I want the audio on.

Anyone figure out how to set default audio state to off?

In my subie if I turn it off before I turn the car off, it stays off when I turn it back on.

There will still be a physical power wire going to the head unit. Perhaps on a circuit with served by an isolated fuse. Things haven't escalated to the point where it is all one black box.

Now killing the head unit may initiate an idiot light as their will be a loss of communication to the main ECU.
