I have one of these for my trike and I am never embarrassed! Great off road rig too.
That is a sidecar, not a trike. Trike don't come with machine gun mounts

I had the opportunity to rent a Ural on the last month of my trip around Australia back in the day. I was super stoked to have all the cargo room for niceties when glamping but it still wasnt a motorcycle to me, I actually fell asleep on the damn thing

Zero makes a great bike. I still think they are overpriced, but they have been around since like 2005, I think.I‘ve had an honest hankering for an emoto for the last couple of months. My commute will be further shifting to urban warfare and I have so much fun on my ebike- wondering if I can capitalize on the same vibe with a moto that I don’t have to pedal. Not sure I’m really ready to contribute to this thread, but I’m casually eyeballing a Zero Fxe.
I've seen the Sondors metacycle dicking around too, which seems perfect for me- low speed, kind of an "advanced moped" or "ebike plus" but the company pulled a startup bro and folded so I'm not sure I want one. I need something for a 15 mile commute that's 100% backroads and city streets- if I got one I'd be a beginner motorcyclist who's a little apprehensive over a clutch and traffic.Zero makes a great bike. yep. Not sure what support looks like for them, but that's what I would need. Like a zero from the late 2000s rather than the new ones that are big and powerful.the company pulled a startup bro and folded
The dirt bike one isn't that big or even that powerful compared to a gas bike. You also have throttle maps you can adjust the power delivery to suit your comfort level.yep. My Ural (Sportsman model) also is full time 2WD which makes it feel more like a jeep than a motorcycle. Super fun, but not very fast. Tops out at about 55mph. The newer ones are much different even though they look the same. Newer bikes have hydraulics, german gearing, fuel injection, can go the speed limit and cost $25-30k.I had the opportunity to rent a Ural on the last month of my trip around Australia back in the day. Police in Denmark charged a motorcyclist with 86 separate moving violations over the weekend, adding excessive speed, endangering others, even “riding on the rear wheel,” to his rap sheet. Danish authorities, however, were absolutely dumbfounded by one unique factor of the case: Most of the evidence came from the motorcyclist himself, thanks to his helmet-mounted GoPro.
If all you are interested in is street why not a G-bike?Still buggin' on emotos here. Would love to legalize a SurRon and ride that to work, but it seems to be a surprising challenge to get a plate for those.
I've seen the Sondors Metacycle, Naxeon I.Am, and Ryvid Anthem as fitting that mid-way point between EEB and real motorcycle. Any others?

At the elevated speeds on roads, even urban streets, the terrible aerodynamics of a motorcycle kind of kill the performance and range of an electric one. There are tons of small, quiet, efficient, relatively inexpensive motorcycles out there.

It might work, and I've considered just buying a moped. I'd like something that's a bit more fun to ride and I need about 40 miles of range (real actual range, not Tesla inflated BS). Top speed would need to be no more than 50, though it's possible I'd take the highway home occasionally (very rarely, that's the point).
There was a shop on the group advertising $11k shipped US.

Why no Ultra Bee R? Matches exactly your performance wishes.I'd like something that's a bit more fun to ride and I need about 40 miles of range (real actual range, not Tesla inflated BS). I didn't know they made one you could plate, damn. Why no Ultra Bee R? Matches exactly your performance wishes.
I have a 35 miles commute and usually end up with 15-20 mile range left when I am back home. Mix of Eco (60%) and Daily (40%) and 1/4 of the commute being at 50 mph, rest between 30-35 mph.
Surprising little range reduction at lower temps, but maybe the battery was getting better from new while the temps were dropping, so that compensated for it. Curious to next spring/summer to see how far a worn in battery and nicer temps can get me.
Daily mode is plenty fun BTW, I rarely use Sport (only if I need to leave Teslas in the dust).
Would love one- don’t think they are US street legal yet (or ever). Would be awesome and perfectly fits the bill! Why no Ultra Bee R? Matches exactly your performance wishes.

If you can get anything street legal in Europe, you can normally easily get it legal in the US!Would love one- don’t think they are US street legal yet (or ever). Would be awesome and perfectly fits the bill!
There are like two people who have successfully gotten them street legal. I think there are a couple of things lacking, like brake lights and turn signals, that need to be installed to get it up to snuff, then you have to fight the DMV. The bikes aren't issued with VINs so you have to get the MFG cert from Surron, then petition your DMV, then get it inspected, then register it. I've heard of at least one person who got it registered as a moped then converted to motorcycle use, or something like that.If you can get anything street legal in Europe, you can normally easily get it legal in the US!
The pure offroad version that you can directly buy from China does not seem to have the wire harness for blinkers and rear lights. In Europe both "offroad" and allroad versions sold can be made street legal by adding lights, blinkers and mirrors (they have the harness) if they are not sold that way already.
I was a little worried about that the rear brake on the handlebar would raise some red flags, which was not an issue in the end.
some states such as Oregon have gone to a Vin dedicated software that will tell the agent if the VIN was established as factory road legal. As a result anyone who had a plated dirtbike ended selling them off due to DMV would no longer renew the registrations. I sold 4 bikes that year after DMV said they wouldnt renew the registrations, Honda XR650r, Yamaha YZ426f, Yamaha WR450f, and a CR500, all plated with baja design dual sport kits. There are like two people who have successfully gotten them street legal. tl;dr it's not an easy process and the odds of you ending up spending $1000 to still end up with a dirtbike are non-zero
Interesting. Sur Ron sells the version with all that, basically that is the only one you can get through European distributors. I have the first one in Denmark. The version I bought came with a European Certificate of Conformity, so it was treated as an "import" motorcycle. I petitioned the equivalent to DMV here, got approval, had to do an inspection and after that was passed, they added the model to the database. Now everyone else importing one does not have to go through the petition step. It was fairly inexpensive to do all that, around $250.There are like two people who have successfully gotten them street legal. "Easy, but time consuming. Once the bike showed up I had to get an official translation of the MCO so I could get the bike registered as a dirt bike at the local DOL. They gave me my dirt tags and registration that day but I had to wait almost 5 weeks for the title to show up. Once I had my title I went and got a street inspection done at my local dirt bike dealer. Once that's done it's back to DOL so they can shred my registration and the title I just got in the mail a few days earlier. I was given the motorcycle plate and a new street registration and in another month or so I'll have a title again. Once I have the title in hand again I'll be selling the bike because I've got something else brewing just over the horizon. "
Sounds like he bought directly from China. That is guaranteed trouble here in Europe. The money you save by ordering direct, you will put in for the inspections, paperwork, etc.I have my doubts. Here's a guy who went through it in Washington:
I guess it's worth reaching out to the vendor to confirm whether or not it is indeed legal, but it's just not a priority right now and Surrons around here are "evil" because priviledged white kids terrorize the neighborhood on them.,
Workers at KTM are still waiting on their November paychecks, which the company promised would be made up for with an advance on December salaries. Now, it’s going back on its word, by saying December pay will come at the end of the month — seemingly without word as to whether the company would pay out more than a fraction of its workers’ Christmas bonuses.
I had seen this coming when they started dumping cash into developing a $427,721 car that nobody has purchased https://www.ktm.com/en-us/models/x-bow.html

The Dakar team is only 3 riders this year as well, lol
I think it's funny how they nonchalantly express their small crew due to just focusing on the task at hand
They loaned them out to a bunch of rich influencer-type kids last year to get some hype on them, and it didn't turn out so well since half of them had to be towed back to the factory, and the other half had parts falling off them. The x-bow is pretty bad ass, though.
I'd be rolling out my toolbox.
