We're kicking off the 2024 Secret Santa! Exchange gifts with other monkeys - from beer and snacks, to bike gear, to custom machined holiday decorations and tools by our more talented members, there's something for everyone.
BTW, not to derail the thread, but I don't care for full width webpages (what is it 1024 pixels?). The NY Times changed their format as well, and I prefer something smaller.
They have sort of the same philosophy as the site you're working on. Might be good to check them out. It's turned into more a blog but it has articles / ride reports as well. It's worth a look.

I dont want to sound like Im bagging on you guys or trying to belittle anything, because I think than an ad free source of MTB literature is a great idea, but if you want the site to be popular, or re-visited, there just has to be some better content. I know that it can be difficult to come up with new and interesting concepts (thats why good writing is so hard to find) but alot of that stuff sounds like the usual banter on the MTBR passion forum. One person I think you could look to for a bit of a different view would be Mr. Clean here on RM. Just do a search for his ride reports. He doesnt have any real technique, but his pics and simple chronologies do alot more to bring a reader in than do "thoughts on spring" or whatever...know what I mean?
Also, on the design side, at least bold the text, and maybe try to use colors and pics to put me "on the trail", not some generic paint-splatter, elementary-school-picture-day background.
But like I said, its a good concept. If I ever get to writing something, Ill submit it to you guys, and you can critique it to shreds, cool?
Ha!
I wasnt trying to be insulting. I was just saying that you're pretty straight forward in your posts. That you dont chatter on about "The ides of march" or other completely irrelevant information. That's not to say I wouldnt like to see you dead next to the interstate, raped tho.
