I was thinking about hitting a couple MX races this year, I used to race it back in the day and had some good results... I was just wondering if there are bike setup rules? I'd be running my rigid single speed DS1, but it does have 2 brakes, do you think that'll fly? Oh it has dual 26" wheels too.

Just ride...they got enough problems to worry about than your lack of gears-I seriously would not worry about it. Only way you will get told something is if a competitor rats you out. Tell the UCI/NORBA Commissaire to go ride your bike, that it has an internal shifter that changes based on pedaling pressure...they will either be too old to actually ride it or too dumb to realize you are full of crap.

Screw it, i'm building my Haro Werks DSR tomorrow & was also continplating the same exact thing !
I'm going to have 4 gears, if i can trick my XTR derailer to do that ?

Well I still have my granny gear on my cranks so i'll just say that's number 2 and then i'll just carry around a spare cog with me and say that it's adjustable on the fly lol.

I want to race the rigid and see... I don't think it'll be that bad (a la X Games DH BMX), i'm sure i'll get some funny looks though, now if there was just more than 1 MX race within 200 miles of me lol.
