I was just thinking about this, and it may come to some of you as a stupid question
but

when directors make movies such as super 8, or earthed 3, do the riders get profits from the dvd sales?

im not sure.. thats a good question though.. im sure if they were big stars theyd demand pay, or be "bribed" in. but im sure many just volunteer. after all, its riding, and what they love to do.

yeah, they could get paid cause if you think about it, movie making takes time, time that the racers could be training so If they get like individual segments then i would think they get paid, but i don't think they get paided to be filmed when racing

I have no idea whether the riders get directly paid by the movie makers, but i'm sure it pays off indirectly in exposure and advertising.

i would think non race footage the rider gets paid.

if they do all promotion and make there own dvd's

then they would be making money off dvd sales too.

that is the way i would do it. free race only footage.
