ok, so the GF and I landed a sweet new place for a affordable rate for socal, which is all good. my question relates to refridgerators- can they be moved on their sides or does it have to stay upright when being transported?

if i recall correctly they can be transported on there side but you have to let it sit upright for many hours(cant remember exact number) before you turn it on.

but i'm not 100% sure.

**edit** ah well there you go, its 24 hours.

It should stay upright.

If it is placed on it's side, let it remain upright for 24 hours before plugging it in.

sounds good- that'll make life easier- dead-lifting a fridge isnt the most fun I've had in the past.

I've moved one on it's side and plugged'er in right away. No problems so far!?!

EDIT: It was for a very short time period, just a few doors down.

i was thinking something similar- i think that the only time it'll be on its side is being put into the back of the truck and then being let down off the truck. oh well- ill play it safe and leave it unplugged for a while.

Your one to talk about rednecks. Reading comprehension skills lacking a bit in your state are they? I said FROM kentucy TO georgia. I think those corn squeezins are rotting what little brain cells you have.

And yes, I cant spell either...
Aw, my bad :D

But you still din't tell me which frig looks better. We just had a little Kenmore dorm frig on our porch, but my wife made me bring it inside :(

I was told the 'shine would preserve stuff. Brain cells don't count?

I agree with Yoss. I used to work at a warehouse that stored appliances & on every Fridge box it said KEEP UPRIGHT, but we would get trucks in that were so full that they were stacked 2 upright with one flat across the top....that is from the factory too so i guess if they do it for a 8 hour truck ride it aint gonna hurt it.

that job sucked but the forklifts were fun.
