Is there such an animal as a bolt on chain guide without an outer bash guard?

One came with my bike, but it doesn't seem too sturdy. Just the piece that bolts to the frame (with the rollers) and then the middle ring.. Shouldn't there be an outer plate that sandwiches the chainring between it and the inner plate?

Other AC owners, what did your bikes come with?

Not yet. I believe its the standard MRP setup, sans the outer plate...I'm too.

The one that comes with AC's is supposed to go around the big ring, no bash gaurd. From my understanding, not the greatest chainline. Get something else, quick

A good friend of mine bought the 2002 AC2 and to this date still has not gotten it to work anywhere near well, it help to derail the chain more than guide it. You really should look into getting something else if you want a serious chain guide.

Thanks. I am missing the outer bashguard that would help with the guide/chainline issue. the shop is ordering me a new set up. I don't plan on riding any lifts fro as month or so, so I have some time to work it out.

What other systems are you all using? So far I've been fine with two rings and a rock-ring, but I'd like to spend some time on the lifts this year.
