Trail description:
If you like the trail at Ruston, La, then you will love Eddie D. Jones (a.k.a The Monkey Trail). Legend has it that James Ramsaur laid out the Monkey Trail after someone commented that his Ruston trail was not all that hard. Yeah, this trail is more challenging than Ruston is. The seven mile loop is open to all riders. The ten mile loop is for experienced riders. Racers are encouraged to enter both time trials. Also note that the Monkey is great course for those hardcore Single Speeders!!!

Race packet:
All pre-registered participants (rec’d by 4/20/04) will receive an official LOCOfest T-shirt.

Awards:
Cash awards for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd 10 Mile male and female racers!

1st place - $100
2nd place - $50
3rd place - $25

Top three 7 Mile male & female finishers win Custom ‘04 LOCOfest awards.

Other Events:
-Slow Race: Feel like you are too slow to be a competitive racer, but your technical skills are honed to perfection? One of the events at LOCOfest has been described as a "slow race" or "how slow can you go". The course starts just a few inches in front of an elevated 2x6 that you have to ride without falling off, then climbs a stack of pallets, crosses parallel wooden fence posts with their ends held in place inside cinderblocks (they have a tendency to roll and move around), next is a reverse ramp that will take you down to your final pile of lumber. All the obstacles will be just over a bike length apart, so the challenge will be negotiating them at the slowest possible speed. Which won't be easy.

-Tire pull: A big, big tractor tire. This event will be an out and back dragging the tire on asphalt. The interesting part is the turn around. And bring an extra set of legs to change into afterwards.

-Huffy Toss: Yep, a real genuine Huffy straight out of a trash pile. It was built back in the days before anybody ever thought a bike needed to be light.

-Bike Limbo: How low can you go? This won't be measured by the height of the seat and handlebars, but whether or not you can keep enough traction in the curve to lean you and the bike over to get under the tape.

-Dirt Jumps: A set of massive doubles are on site in the park for your enjoyment! During LOCOfest there will be some riders with mad dirt jumpin' skillz showing how its done.

Where to stay:
Limited Primitive Camping is available on site. Other accommodations available in Shreveport/Bossier City: http://www.shreveport.net/
