I've just heard that one of my good MTB ride pal's was injured in Iraq. He is with the 156th Armor in Baghdad. I was told the Humvee that he was in was hit with a roadside bomb.

He is being flown to Washington DC.

Sounded pretty serious so keep him and his wife in your prayers.

More info filtering in... and it's good news...

It happened Dec 24. He's at Walter Reed. He was in the same humvee as Chris Barnett, the first GI from Louisiana who died in combat over there. My friend had surgery to remove shapnel. He will recover. He will be sent to Ft. Hood for recovery.

He is in good spirits........ joking around etc. He has all his parts intact including his sense of humor.

A word of advice if he's a good friend, when you send your first care package, try to find a way to hide some porn in it. I'm thinking, hide it in a bag of cheetos and use one of those infommercial contraptions to re-seal the plastic bag. The best of luck to him.

I sent a few pals a bottle of hand lotion along with a can of tuna fish, rubber band to keep tuna can in place, and a porn mag that was inbedded in some "official" looking doc's...
