I'm working on building a dual slalom / mtn x bike. What are some good full suspension frames for those disciplines? So far I'm looking at the Trek Fuel SLR, and the specialized enduro. any other ideas. If any one has one to sell I would also be interested

allso with the specialised, whats the differnce between S-works, pro, and comp. is there any difference in the frames, or just the components that came on them?

Only dif is the parts. I just picked up an SX frame for my son. Other than an air leak in the shock it rides great. He is a BMXer and also rides a Steelhead so he was a little leary about FS.
It comes with 2 shock links so you can change the head angle and BB height.

BTW, there is a freeride version of the SX. I would not get it if you are racing 4X.

Ok here's my 2 cents...

Intense Tazer - still has the best geometry for a fs. It really gets out of the gate an excelerates out of turns. The negative is it is some what flexy . All fs bikes have a longer rear triangle than their ht counterpart which on any but the highest speed courses is a negative.. Frankly if you can buy only one bike i would buy a HT. I would pass on the trek. The Specialized has good performance but sits quite upright.

We love the Orange Msisle, Morgan has ridden one since 02. He has outgrown the frame when he hit 5'10" (size sm). It will be for sale. It is in great shape. We did not buy a new one because Morgan wanted a change.

For the 2nd half of 2005 and the 06 season he will race a Black Market Mob (4.5 lbs), by S&M. We looked at a number of bikes Including the Staats (liked). We think the bmx guys have the right ideas for 4x/ds....

Best of luck with your choice

How about the Santa Cruz blur 4X. Honestly I don't really know much about 4X FS bikes, but that one looks pretty sweet. From what AI've read, the bike is should only be used for racing, if you use it for dirt jumping or freeriding, it will probably not last.

Blur 4x is pretty sweet. A buddy of mine has one and it has some great geometry. He built the Blur and I built my Transition Preston FR at the same time. Very comparable bikes although I think I prefer mine (4 or 5" adjustability and coil shock). We're both using Pikes up front. Two good options for decent prices.

mr. ryan is right i rode trevyn's bike on the ds course at wisp a few times and loved the tazer. I'd look into one of those or the enduro sx.

they say that about a lot of bikes that are used for dirt jumping and freeriding all the time and hold up just fine.
