I want to move up a bunch of parts on my bike to make it a little lighter, and more reliable. (The NRS, see sig)

#1: Splined XT crankset and bb
is this good, or should i go for this?
http://pricepoint.com/product473.html

#2: XT Derailleurs
Mostly upgrading these for performance(beat up deore in the front, beat up LX in the back) but also for a little weight

#3: XT cassette
getting this for the wheelset i will be getting, along with a new rotor kit, so i will have a set of extra wheels ready to go in case i need them.(in a race)

#4: Mavic crossroc ust disc
Mostly for tubeless advantage, but also a bit of weight.

#5: Hutchinson Python UST
This is to go with the wheelset, does IRC make the mythos in tubeless?

#6: New performance computer
I broke mine.

#7: Titec X-wing seatpost
will go with the rest of my titec stuff

oops, cassette too, kinda need that for the wheelset :p

if only i could find my cassette lockring tool rather than paying $7 for it at performance. Ill just get the tool for less than that price.

front der. are all the same IMO. same with shifters, unless you get the ones with bearings instead of bushings (xt?)

so definately cranks, wheelset, rear der. front is questionable

thought about a new headset?

#1: "Splined XT crankset and bb" You can get an LX cheaper and its the same except for a steel granny. THe weight difference is almost unnoticeable.

#2: "XT Derailleurs"
Good call I think XT are the longest lasting and lightest ders you can buy.

#3: XT cassette
Again, best product for the money IMHO

#4: "Mavic crossroc ust disc"
Sweet these are cool wheels. I know 2 ppl using them and they will go on and on about them.

#5: Hutchinson Python UST
Yuck. I know everyone likes these things but I just dont get it. They are predictable but Id rather have a tire thats predictable in its tendency to never ever slide.

#6: New performance computer
Me too, twice, err, once broken, once lost in the foliage. Ive decided that I ride a mtn bike and I dont need all that info anyway.

#7: Titec X-wing seatpost
You could definately get a lighter seatpost tna this for racing. Id say check out some other brands.

update: got the crossrocs with mosquitos and an xt cassette, now looking at this

Titec X-wing seatpost( dont want carbon fiber in unpleasant places, the weight is pretty good, and it goes with my other titec stuff)

XT Crankset (little bit light than LX, not much more expensive, plus it says XT on it:D )

ES-70 Bottom Bracket (to go with the crankset)

XT Front derailleur(already have one, but it wont fit my NRS frame.)

XTR Rear Derailleur (Figure it's lighter, better performing than XT, plus ill probably end up with one anyway)

The X-wing posts suck. I had one on my Giant AC, and the clamp is weak, and the whole post is kinda flexy. Of couse, I'm 210lbs, and was running the seat post pretty damn extended...;)
I picked up and Interloc post for $25 at JensonUSA that was a little heavy, but MUCH more sturdy. Titec is(was?) blowing out some seatposts on their website at well. Check there for some good deals on Titec stuff. Good luck!

I have to aggree the X wing is very crappy from what i've been told. I like my Pazzaz seatpost but i think Thomson is the thing everyone wants.

Put a Deore front derailleur next to a XT derailleur, and play "spot the difference". Apart from the different cable routing options on the Deore, they both use basically the same stamped metal, so in my mind the Deore wins for its versatility (can be swapped between bikes without worry). When you're talking about 5-10grams difference, probably best to pocket the money and spend it on something else.

Front derailleur does nothing for me, it shifts every hour or so, and I never have headaches with them, so unless it's worn beyond functional, it's probably best left on the bike.
That's my dodgy opinion anyway :)
