Yeah, we watched that at the NYE party I was at. It was A LOT of hype for, yeah, a big jump, but not worth that much hype.

Then he went back and did it a second time.

You want to see something really impressive, check out the Enduro at Erzberg and the Last Man Standing.

Two of the most difficult offroad motorcyle events in the world. The last man standing is designed to have less then 5 people finish, Erzberg I think maybe 5% of the field actually make it before the time cut off.

Big jumps are impressive, but there's something about enduro's like the two above that are just so much more inspiring.

P.S. David Knight is either a robot or an alien, he simply can not be human.

Not worth the hype? Let's put this in a historical context...

Knievel's nationally televised motorcycle jumps represent four of the 20 most-watched ABC's Wide World of Sports events to date.

Just because we are all desensitized to feats of extreme nuttiness does not discredit the hype that feats like this deserve.

I watched the last man standing on Speed. That is awesome.

I watched that, it was OK. I wanted to see him do it on the bikes that evel used to jump with. No MX bikes but modified harley road bikes. Lot heavier and a lot harder to jump with.

I like how it all could have ended by tagging a concrete support column on the run up. Looks like he narrowly missed it. That would have been humorous.

I watched it and the guy is a crazy man... but part of me doesn't get much thrill from it. It's mostly knowing the speed you need, gunning it and holding on. It all looks too easy - which, of course, it's really not, but there are really only two types of landings from a jump that large: one that makes it look too easy, and one that kills you.

The last man standing clips were awesome, though. I'd watch that for sure :thumb:

I thought he was going OTB the first time I watched it. Radness for sure. He should have thrown in something for style points, though.

Wicked. He was already flying just coming into it...

Poor editing however. I would like to see a continuous shot of the jump...
