I just did the frame and used my old parts. The frame is a small and it weighs 7lbs. My 04 SX weighed 8.5lbs. I think the frame is $1500 and the complete is around $3300. I'll probably get a talas (I only weigh 135) the 36 might be overkill for me.

Here are some pics of my 05 sx. I'm getting a 100mm fork so ignore the 64 degree head angle. :)
hahah...I had looked at the pics before the post and I was like "dayum that's a tall fork for that bike" ;)

I think a TALAS is the best fork for the new SX (or the old one really). I have been running a TALAS for about a year and a half or so now and absolutely have ZERO complaint about it. It feels smooth like a coil and is very stiff and light. I too agree that the 36 is overkill for an SX. I still wish that Fox would make a 20mm lower option for their smaller forks :( .

I was surprised that Specialized offered a complete SX and frame only option but the SX trail is offered as a complete only. It seems to me that the SX should be available as a frame only and not complete because there really isn't a market for a complete 4X bike because 4X racers are either sponsored or very selective about their parts. The SX trail on the other hand should be available as a frame only because a lot of freeriders like to just buy a frame and use their old parts or whatever and they are also selective about their parts...

I hear that they are actually planning to offer the SX trail as a frame now but not until a little later this year. I bet there will be no SX complete next year either...

Oh yeah, SICK BIKE!

Here's a pic of my Enduro that I am still waiting on a fork for. I bought all new parts for it so that has been making the build-up slow.

It is a 5". The head angle seems too slack, but I have only ridden it in the parking lot. Hope to get out tomorrow. I have it on the low bb/68 deg.head angle link. It comes w/a higher bb/69 deg link. Right now head angle is about 64. My 04 SX w/ same fork was about 67, which worked pretty well for me.

that HA is not 64...and whats with all these really intelligent "time to change my pants" posts.

I measured it w/a really old angle finder w/o sitting on it. it seemed to be reasonably accurate on other bikes, but hey whatever it's too slack and needs a 100mm fork. I rode it today and it sits much lower than last years bike it feels much more nimble even with the H A.

All Geritol and Viagra are gladly accepted. One day I'll give up this bike thing and do what all the other old people do.

I was thinking that 64º sounded way slack considering it's built around a 100mm for and that would only take it to 65º, when the claimed geo is more like 69º. Also I was curios why he didn't bolt in the steeper shock shuttle to gain a degree...

But I also didn't really think it was worth posting about, but maybe it was?

Ha ha!

Actually been meaning to get renters. I wish I was a homeowner :(

Dude it's killing me staring at this thing everyday and having every part I need except the darn fork in my possession!

Can everybody send speedy manufacturing vibes to Fox Shox please!!!

I bolted on the other shock shuttle this morning it measures 66deg. The angle finder I have is short so it is tough to get a perfect measurement. So it probably was 65 before.
