It is driving me nuts.

Most likely either the fan on your processor, video card if it has one, power supply, or the cooling fan for the case itself. pop the case open while its running and you should be able to figure out which it is pretty easily.

definitly a cooling fan, mines doing it also, bloody rediculous sometimes, need a new one, but i always forget about it when i'm in town.

mines also has a very loud electronic hum, its amazing how loud my comp can be, i dont relise until i turn it off, its so weird.

cooling fan most likely. my old computer used to do that but my new one you can hardly tell its on if the monitor is off. that or just turn your music up louder
