He can't believe I am still at it with this thing.

Back to singlespeed but not rigid-fork 29er front because the trails are insanely rutted and shitty at the moment.
What is going in with your head angle? Looks straight up and down. Is it just the camera angle?

Mine are still getting regular use too.

Though I have considered the single-degree Angleset-style headset I think exists for 1 1/8 headtubes...

But I also don't want the top tube effectively shortened either.

i can’t tell if the single degree helps or what, but I do have them on both of mine. And the shortening would be a few mm probably… something you can counteract with a roll of the bars.

Reading back through this thread is quite a trip. Amazing. We're still here 14 years later.

Refreshly single-sped to 30/20 (shit's steep here; humor me) and the brake lines finally trimmed to actually fit the bike somewhat.

Going to try an angle headset and a dropper soon as I get them. Those wheels are on their last legs but I have some swap options there.

When the trails are less rutted out from the rainy season, back to rigid 29" front I think.

Keep musing about converting my Transition to single-speed, but haven't made the plunge yet.

Put in the slackening headset, switched back to the old 66SL because I can shorten it a bunch lower than the Fox.

Trying to get the BB height down a little.

Have a set of Spank wheels I will be swapping in as I the first-gen Mavic USTs are a little long in the tooth.
