After owning a steel hardtail, Al hardtail, and a Giant Reign, I wanted to start filling in the gap (much to my girlfriend's dismay), I'm wondering why it weighs 27lbs. I thought it would be a bit lighter.

That's about right. My '02 NRS 1 is 28lbs.

i think it's the frame. you have a nice build though.
switch from atacs to eggbeaters there's a half a lb right there.

The pedals, crankset, and brake calipers are the most obvious culprits. Still, what's an NRS frame weigh?
