my friend is buying a specilized big hit and i have heard of a travel extension for it . i did a search but i think i spelled "extension" wrong anyone got any info or pics or brands, just please something

You could buy a different link for the older bighits. The newer ones already come with the longer travel. ..............................
SpeciAlized no longer makes the travel upgrade for the older ones, so you would have to find a new one. I dont think anybody actually produces one but I am sure you could get one custom made.
I think BETD may do it. You can also buy aftermarket chainstays that let you run a 26" rear wheel, this increases the wheelbase and increases travel to 9"
