I have found something that is almost as expensive as bikes...

FISH!!

Over the last few months I put this 70g saltwater tank together.
I've got numerous corals, anemones, 4 fish, hermit crabs, snails, and a star fish.

Ack!
No more fish for me. (I spent years working in fish stores)

Nice tank. What kind of system are you running?

Where the hell are you?
You in town? East coast? Tx?

I drove by your work yesterday (cough STALKER) and your truck wasn't there.

System? Like "berlin method"? Not sure.

I'm running:

200w of Power Compact 10K's
80w of Blue/Actinic T5's
Remora skimmer
Fulval 404
shallow sandbed with 50+ lbs of live rock.
Given the heat around here, I also have a 1/5hp chiller, and I'm in the process of setting up a remote Deep sand bed (for nitrates)

No sump, no refugium...
Just can't fit it under that stand. Plus, it is a glass tank w/ no bulkheads. Everything is on closed loops too, so even if the power goes out, I won't have a wet livingroom. Yeah, I know you can put in siphon "stops", but when I was first setting this up I didn't know jack about plumbing.
Next tank, next tank.... ;)

So what's going on with the new lift place? I assume nothing till spring? I sent in my member info a few months ago, but I guess you are kinda busy.

Oh, are you down for another Troy Lee day sometime soon?

Nice :thumb: I would love to have a salt water tank, but we opted for the fresh water ciclids instead.
I know that it isn't true, but I always thought that FW was smellier.

I know that it isn't if you keep up with the water changes, but that is my impression.

Question... Is there any equivalent to live rock for FW? You know.. something that will help the N-Cycle?
