Here are some pics of my new Yeti DJ. I haven't ridden a hardtail in a couple of months, so I am stoked. I was trying to dirt jump and MTNx on a 2001 ASX and the angles were wack. This is more like I like it, low and slack. The chainstays are shorts and the rearend snaps ahead with little input. So she seems to be fast. I'm going to hit the MTNx track Wednesday night, I can't wait.

That is one flippin' HOT bike - as a matter of fact, Kidwoo and I were just talking about that bike not too long ago. Definitely looks like a killer DJ/DS bike.

let us know how it rides!! :thumb:

Yeah, I suspect that it will be the shiznat. Hey has anyone used a Woodman headset before? I won this at a MTNx race and thought I'd throw it on there. Its weird. The bottom race is a big cup that houses a set of needle bearings and a HUGE sealed ball bearing. It looks stout, but as good as my CKs? We'll see...

Oh by the way, it is frikkn lite. I went to put it in the truck and nearly flipped the thing over the cab. All the weight is in the front fork and wheel. I plan on replacing that stupid trailpimp as soon as it dies. If it ever dies.

Duhhhhhh :help:

I think they retail around $650 or there abouts. On the upper end of the HT :-)p ) price range, but I sold my old downhill frame so I had some cash to blow. :blah: But look at those drop outs. plus the brushed aluminum look is sick.

I wouldn't use anything but a CK headset - but that's just me.

aren't those HT's pricey?
$649 retail.

The one that I was thinking of was the in house made "4x" bike with 3" of travel. Yeti's site doesn't even list a price for that one. Mani_UT was telling me that thing was >$2000. Not too much different from a good trailbike from turner, ellsworth or intese I guess.

That's a nice build profro. I might have to show you our dirtjumps and slalom track if you come through. Good training. :p

Yeah, I have a 4" fork on there now and it seems really high. I don't think I can get this fork any lower. :(

kidwoo, I am finalizing my plans now. ;)

I got to ride that baby last night at the MTNx track and wow what a sweet ride. The last hardtail I rode regularly was a 2002 Kona Scab (steel) with about the same build. It was extremely heavy and very slugish. This bike is really light and nimble feeling even with a boat anchor like fork and front wheel. As with all hardtail it requires very little input for jumping. Once I found the correct body position (which took me about two seconds), the bike was zomming over the jumps in the course. Since I am still taking it easy after my shoulder injury I am soaking all the jumps and the bike is really comfortable flying low. But I get the feeling that it wants to fly high. Its very flickable and the geomtry is spot on. After one night I feel very good on the bike, but just like my DH9 there is so much more to learn.
