I want to move to BC!!!
All of them are static models no RC here. The open engine on one of the pics is just a plastic model of the Jumo engine, 1 resin body part + 200 scratchbuilt attachments.
I wish i had time to apply my airbrushing talents to bikes and helmets.

Planes seen here got 4 IPMS national trophies/awards.
When i get back to Greece sometime, i ll emphasise on US Naval pacific planes ;)
Hellcats, corsairs, avengers etc...

Very cool! Just a question - how is it that you are either in Greece or the UK - what do you do?
He's an international escort to the richest women in Europe. With a name like Yannis, you'd expect nothing less!

Ah, Corsairs... I saw one fly at an airshow. That thing was LOUD and freakin' fast. I still want to see a P-38 fly though. My favorite WW2 plane, and my first model I put together as a kid.

BTW, great job on the planes.

Excellent work Yannis, your airbrushing is bad ass!

I built and entered models in contests growing up, I never got very good with the airbrush, I had a crappy one though.

Yep that is a P47D-30, with bubble canopy and revised propeller blades. I love Jugs...and their nose arts.
My favorite future projects are B24J, B25, P61 ;) Nose art galore,... but at least 200hrs for each of them.
Mainly i was into Luftwaffe stuff, and especially nightfighters. That UHU plane was the first operational plane to use fully functional ejection seats. Airborne rader, jammers etc... pretty awesome stuff (just like the TST )

Reno Air Races are next week I can't wait warbirds for days. Have seen a couple of fly overs in the past week. Strega buzzed the Truckee Airport a few days ago... he must have been doing over 400kts@ 10-15ft AGL.

Nice planes! I have recently gotten into reading about WWII. It started with Baa Baa Black Sheep and progressed from there. I read a really well written VMF-214 history right after that. I went to the Boeing Museum of Flight a couple weeks ago and they've got two Corsairs and a P-51 Mustang along with some others. I love those planes!

I'm having difficulty finding decent kits of WWII aircraft out here. I need to hit a few hobby shops and start building! I doubt I'll do as good of a job as you've done! Nice work! :thumb:

Favorite WWII plane: B-17 Flying Fortress

My faves are the Corsair and the B-24. I just read The Wild Blue by Stephen E Ambrose; this could have something to do with it... :D

Man, that is some incredible detail work. That cockpit looks amazing. Seeing these really takes me back, I used to do a lot WWII models when I was a kid, mostly tanks and troops and stuff. Real deal models I'd put tons of time into them until I had too many then I'd blow 'em away with firecrackers and a pellet gun.

I remember one time I put a smoke bomb in a tiger tank and walked up point blank with the BB gun. BLAMO Molten plastic all over my legs. I sat down and peeled the plastic off and with it was my skin.

It would always turn into a BB gun war with me and my friends shooting each other.

Those were the days...... (long dramatic sigh...........)

Thanks for the memories

Cheers.

Nice work though. I used to be into static model cars, now I buy them Die-cast!! :thumb: Much less work, and look better then my own work. I do have a 10 year old RC air plane project on the go, better known as a 10 year project of building the same RC plane!!

Guys thanks for all the comments!

Honestly now, if someone wants any kind of model building hints, or advice towards what kit to buy in order to make a specific airplane just shoot!.

to begin with. Some very nice US models www.tamiya.com

An excellent modelling resource page....

www.hyperscale.com

If you feel we should make a modelling subsection here by all means shoot!
