wow, i totally forgot about this thread, it's amazing how far he's come in just a few months. those pics were in august and this one was in late september.

I know that you said (somewhere) that you were going to give him a full face helmet as a gift (for Christmas?). That one pic of the faceplant begs me to ask you to give that to him as an early "surprise" gift!
When I was a little older than him (around 6 or so) I raced BMX (for years after that too....but anyways). I was riding around in front of our house and for some reason I happened to be wearing my full face "pro-tec" (dating myself here...). I hit a small curb wrong and went over the bars smacking my face on the ground....it cracked the helmet! I'm sure my dad would still be paying for that if I hadn't had the helmet on!
Regardless, it looks like you two have a great time together!!!
