Your perception of staining is relative.

What if you had Superman eyes and could see the molecules of the supposedly stainless steel, I'm sure you'd see lots of staining.

I had that problem too. The deal is, the metal has not been permiated. It is just residual. You can clean it off with scotch brite. That means that it is not stained.
