No point to this story, just strikes me as funny.

The wheels on my 24 have a DMR Revolver single speed hub. The flanges on this hub are really wide. I installed my old BB7 brake with 160mm rotor and had some problems with the spokes brushing the adjuster knob. I had a chance to snag a new Magura Louise BAT rear brake for $70 so I scooped it up. The Louise has more clearance but I was still getting spoke rub when landing sideways and such. So I put a 180mm rotor on and no more problems at all.

But now I'm running a 24 dirt jumper with a 180mm rear hydraulic brake. I use maybe 10% of the braking power, if that. I'm good for downhill on this bike though. LOL

I'm running that combo, some kid stopped me at the skatepark last night to tell me it was the biggest rotor he'd ever seen.

I saw a squirrely kid running a Code with a 203mm disc a couple years back on his dirt jump bike. He still skidded around. Haha.

Well I guess I am not the only one with an overdone brake. Trying to get used to appying the brake very lightly when manualing.
