Ok, so i figure i'd do a write-up on the trip.

I had a blast at N*. Many a fun times were had there thats for sure. I got into town at 9:30pm thursday, went to Mikes and built up my bike which was squeezed into 2 26x26x8 boxes. Friday morning we woke up and went to N*. I tried to keep up with Mike for the first few runs until i found Brian, but Town was as his location says 'waaaaaaaay infront of you' he's too fast. I found brian stopped 1/2 way down the mountain just standing there, yelled at him from the lift and met him up top. Rode with him for the rest of Friday, and if i wasn't infront of him i crashed, because he jabs the brakes all the time and stirs up about 30lbs of dust, and made me blindly fly into thinks. Saturday I rode with Mike, not that I could keep up. LowB showed up and I rode with him quite a bit, because he wasnt as slow as Brian. Sunday was by far the best day out there. I rode with LowB, Ohio, Kidwoo, and Mike again. We all rode to lunch and Kidwoo got tangled in a plastic orange fence along a fire road and ate sh!t really bad, but it was pretty funny to watch a fence own him. I went with mike to the giant last run at boondocks, which is one of the best trails ive ever ridden, it has everything. All in all i really had a great time, the whole mountain was damn fun, i hit every trail that was there, and rode with a ton of people. It took me most of friday to get a hang of handling the bike in the moon dust, but by late friday i was fully accustomed to loose crap everywhere and the dust.

Ill be back for opening and closing weekend next year for sure, Town was a great host, and cool guy too; he has a nice house thats right in downtown truckee, only 5min from the mountain.

And now i know what 11.5in of travel is for, so Brian doesnt need to stand up to ride N*

He knows that, I think he just has a question to ask you since you know Karpiels real well.
I know... but he always buys bikes with "issues". Then Jan will tell him what a liar I am and I know nothing. I kinda over being "the Karpiel guy" and being "the N* guy. I tired of cleaning up other peoples messes only to get sh!t from people when I can't help them. I had too much drama this year. Jan talking alot of sh!t. Northstar using proposals I wrote to get sponsorship. I over doing it for free only to get nothing out of it. Being the nice guy only makes more hair fall out of my head, and end up on my back. Funny that when I got hooked up by Santa Cruz I seemed to have alot of new friends. "Dude hook me up", "dude put in a good word for me". It's time SOME of these people did their own legwork. Dlo I will help you out with your new bike ONLY because you bought it from low b, and half of that frame used to be mine. Low b and I traded swingarms a while back. I also want to see you get the bike you have always wanted.

Whoa, Low B.. there is no problem at all! I'm just tryin to make the best use of the parts that I have :)

I think the only misunderstanding that we had is when you said the shock is a 2.5 stroke. I called up Craig and he said with a 7.5 I2I, that's physically impossible, sooooo.. I think we are dealin with 2.25 stroke here? Don't worry, I'll let you know how it goes.

This is why we had issues in the past. You have no idea what your doing and have no idea who is right and wrong. Try a little something my dad taught me.
G.O.A.L... go over and look!!!!!!!!!! See if your shock fits first. Then if it doesn't THEN worry about what size shock it needs. Karpiels have had about 3/4 different sizes since they came out. When I have talked to you in the past it is REAL hard to understand where your coming from. I'm saying your dumb or anything like that. You are new to the sport so you have a HUGE learning curve ahead of you. You just don't give enough info sometimes.

Ok, cool.
I did send you the stock shock that came with the frame.
If you measure that shock you will have all the correct measurements you need.

Well Mike I don't race, I don't care to race, I have nothing to prove by racing. I like to ride and hang out with friends, for me it's not how fast you get down the hill, it's how much fun you have going down the hill. I can't afford to get hurt, believe me Mike I'm sure I have a HELL of a lot more to lose if I get seriously injured than you. I have nothing to prove, and I've never claimed to be fast either. I'm just someone who loves to ride N* and have a great time hanging out with my friends, thats all I care about when I'm there.

And as far as having more to lose. Do you know that much about me to say that. who said anything about racing. It's funny many people think that I have like no life other than racing. I have a job that requires the use of my hands at ALL times. If you think that if I get injured the sh!t doesn't roll downhill. I will NEVER use my house, my wife, my kids, or my life as an excuss for anything. And you know what I'm sorry that I have to be a dick right now but that comment really pissed me off. Just because you can afford a million dollar house doesn't give you the right to think that my life doesn't have ill effects if I get injured. This all started out a people poking fun of your on the seat riding style, and you throw that crap at me. A little pretentious don't you think.

Brian, it's lame to say you have more to lose, and Town it's also lame to think everyone wants to get down the hill fastest and that not caring how fast you go is an "excuse." Maybe like me you're all just jonesin' to ride northstar and frustrated that it won't happen again 'til next year (unless ya poach it).

And yeah, it's none of my business but I'm bored and you put it on the board. So either STFU or take it to PM.

I really don't care about how fast other people get down the hill. We were all having fun until a few posts ago. I see Brian dishing it out all the time. Then you flick a little back and it turns all highschool. To be really honest with ya I'm tired of people with money rubbing it in peoples faces. I REALLY hate it when I hear someone with a SECOND home in Tahoe telling me how rough they have it. I'm done I've added my two cents.

I know I don't have enough info... which is why I am tryin to seek help, probably from the best expert on Karpiels, not only on this board, but probably in the whole damn world right now. You've probably seen it all from day 1 right? That's a compliment sir, and I mean it sincerely. I honestly don't mean to bug you, I'd just like to do everything correctly this time, hopefully the last time!

If I didn't have any of you guys to lend me a hand, I think I'd have quit biking by now. :P

P.S. All of you all need to chill out and go ride. Rally, it does wonders :thumb:
