What a load of BS. Worst case of creative journalism I have ever seen..he was arrested for having a growhouse with 52 plants in it..not suspicion of posession.

What a load of biased crap from whoever wrote that story.

Read the rest of the quote:

Rockwell, who was arrested in May for suspicion of possession of marijuana with intent to sell

edit: trimmed the bolded words.

Ah see, the original poster took that WAY out of context. Altho, i would say that 52 plants was a little more then "intent" to sell... :help:

You should probably read the original story before castigating the author :D

52 is funny...it's enough to get him in a s-load of trouble, but if you're already over that limit (I think when the story broke I remember it being 50 plants) why not REALLY go over the limit if your intent is to make money at it? Seems to me it's like going to jail for stealing a scratch lottery ticket. If I was going to risk getting caught, I'd be going for the grand slam.

However, if Myles was stoned, he may not have thought about that...

I'm just lucky he crashed 2x in Qualifying, he was off 2 people in front of me. His time was 25 sec faster than mine, go figure.

Actually... a flat black Giant DH Team from a couple years back. Miles was hauling @SS for sure. Less than 4 seconds off the leader or something?

That race was crazy, I tell you what. We raced it in a regional event about a month ago and I thought the braking bumps and ruts were 'bad' then... holy CRAP was I in for a treat! It was like someone decided they needed mortar practice up there... BLOWN UP. Between conditions and a new bottom section, times were on average 15-20 seconds slower for the National than the regional.

Everyone was out there KILLING it... Minnaar was way smooth but that d@mn G-Cross sounds like a clapped out Huffy rattling down the trail. i called Tracy Hannah for the win in Pro Women cuz she was caught behind some gal in qualifying goin' 3 miles an hour and still qualied 6th or so, but the Lunachix brought the noise, so to speak and wound up top. The craziest is that I WATCHED Panozzo lose it... bobbled in a corner near the bottom and I thought to myself "Woah, there was half a second or so..." and then he crossed the line and they announced his time...

All in all, WAY dope scene! Tons of fun, all weekend. Can't wait for Durango!

Bwahahaha!!! Tell me that was intentional....?
D'OH! :D

It wasn't intentional, to be honest, but that is pretty funny. However, I'm a little bummed that what kinda started as a "Holy SH!T Miles hasn't raced in two years and throws down for a TOP TEN against some heavy hitters!" thread became so focused on some indescretions Miles has had, and the way the media has portrayed him. The dude was SMOKING fast, end of story, and there were TONS of people pulling for him to podium. Ask Spoons and he'll tell ya straight up yo.

You did it again: "...dude was SMOKING fast..." Now you MUST have meant it that time. If not, double D'OH!!

No seriously, it's pretty amazing that Myles came out and did what he did. Makes ya wonder how fast he'd be if he had been racing all along.

I'm not much into racing but how is it possible that Myles was the top US finisher? Is he that good or are the other US riders just not that strong? Are there riders out with injuries, was there another race that weekend or what?

I got the chance to get to know Myles pretty well this weekend and he is by far the nicest most down to earth DH racer I have ever met. It was great to see him do so well this weekend!

Funny, I just found a peice of glass I sandblasted with outlines of Myles on the old jackshaft C-dale. I remember from way back in the day, it was Missy and Myles I was always watchin for on top of the podeum. Missy was the ****.

I rode those DH bikes for awhile and they rip! I wonder why
Giant went back to the more traditional looking frame for their current DH bikes?
Thanks for the poop Trucker!

Myles is lucky he DIDN'T win. If he did, then he would have been drug tested, they almost definetely would have found THC, then he would have been fined and banned for a year. Just like Gary Houseman.

I believe the expression is...

"innocent until proven guilty in a court of law"

...So until (or unless) he is actually convicted, it would be irresponsible journalism for the writer to say otherwise.

Apparently you don't have a journalism degree. The way the reader above quoted it, "suspicion of posession" is false. They KNOW he was in posession, of 52 plants in fact.

"Suspicion of posession with intent to sell" is a different story. He will be nailed with posession no matter what, intent to sell could bring felony charges (altho posession of 52 plants probably already does, i don't know).

So had that actually been the quote, it would have been the writer trying to make someone appear in a different light (which wasn't the case, just an incomplete quote). Trying to cover up some facts to make someone look better is irresponsible journalism my friend.

I'll agree the original quote as pasted from Repack was a little misleading, but the original article was linked in the first post of the thread, and you didn't read it, so I wouldn't blame it all on Repack :D

Ha, well i figured if someone was quote something THAT IMPORTANT from an article, they would at least quote it in context! :D

Doesn't change how ridiculously incorrect the out of context quote would have been tho.

I like well over 99% of humans do not have a journalism degree, you are correct in guessing that. Skewing or misrepresenting any facts IMHO is irresponsible journalism. I guess we can agree on that...
