N Arkansas: Syllamo's Revenge Mountain Bike Challenge
May 7th, 2005

Sponsored by WRMC Cycling
Mountain View, Arkansas

You won’t want to miss 40 miles of awesome mountain biking through the beautiful Ozark Mountains of Arkansas. Unlike many mountain bike trails that have a limited area for trail construction, the Syllamo Mountain Bike Trail stretches over thousands of acres of the Ozark National Forest, and offers riders changing scenery and beautiful views of the White River and Sylamore Creek Valleys, and the Ozark Mountains.

The cost of the event is $30. Proceeds will be used to supplement the US Forest Service budget for the Syllamo MTB Trail. The ride will be well supported with rest stops stocked with food and water, and provide SAG service.

The 24 miles of Phase I will challenge the most advanced riders, with technical riding and 2,300 feet of climbing. Phase II consists of 16 miles, that while suited for riders of all skill levels, will give advanced riders rolling trails that are fast and exciting and climbs 1900 feet.

That’s right, IF you can ride it all, you’ll climb 4,200 feet!

Finish the ride in less than 6 hours and you’ll receive a custom sandblasted stone award that will be unique and custom made for the event.

The Big Pavilion in Blanchard Recreation Area will be the center of the event, and hamburgers, hot dogs, and drinks will be served at the finish. Campsites are available with hot showers.

Keep checking the site for registration, and ride updates.
