Got an email from USA Cycling today with the 2006 NORBA Nats schedule. Schweitzer was supposed to have the finals in 2006 and they aren't even on the schedule. According to the promoters, Schweitzer has goudged themselves out of the picture. Oh well.

Here is the schedule for 2006:

May 5-7 Frank G. Bonelli Regional Park San Dimas, Calif.

June 10-11 Sugar Mountain Resort Banner Elk, N.C.

June 17-18 Mount Snow Resort West Dover, Vt.

July 8-9 Deer Valley Resort Park City, Utah

August 5-6 Brian Head Resort Brian Head, Utah

August 12-13 Snowmass Resort Aspen, Colo.

based on the local scuttle about how Schwietzer doesn't support the mountain biking scene, I am not surprised to hear this. Maybe when Silver gets its accomodation base built up, things will be different.

This could almost have been predicted at the end of last years race. The attendance was way down without a WIMS tie in. Almost no one who raced the Indieseries showed up. A lot of people just didnt want to shell out the $60 license fees plus its quite aways from the Seattle area. It was a nice chance though to check yourself against some of the top racers in the country.
