Man some fat dude came down from the stands and came at one of the players like he wanted to throw down, and he got straight up OWNED. One punch to the head and fatboy was on his back. It was damn funny, too bad the player is probably gonna get his ass sued.

Sorry homes, but when fat boy decided to leave his seat and charge into a fight with 7 foot tall professional athletes, he should have known his sh*t was gonna get owned. What did he think was going to happen? What valid reason did he have for being there?

i don't think he had any valid reason to be there, but it's not like the basketball court is traditionally a boxing ring either. not quite the same argument as against the guy who climbs into the lions' cage at the zoo...

Oh that **** was crazy. The fat man incident was awesome! Far worse than any baseball brawls thiss year. Even the one in Oakland.

So should the players have waited for the fan to hit them, or worse yet pull out a weapon?

No fans got violent until the first Pacer started beating up on one. Not protecting them, they were terrible no excuse there, but the players' behavior was definitly not professional.

The whole situation was just messed up. There is gonna be a lot of money changing hands soon due to this

Untrue, throwing that first bottle could definately be considered "violent" although not really dangerous. Detroit fans suck, they deserve to be beat down like the bunch of bitches they are, but theres no doubt Artest and Jackson should be suspended for a while. Their actions were understandable, if I was in the same situation I would wanna bash some heads too and Ive got a pretty long fuse.

Jackson seemed to follow Artest and do most of the damage. In fact he was the one who cold cocked fat boy by essentially blind siding him, but really what a great punch he flew backwards after having forward momentum. Haha i was crackin up at the look in the face of the guy in the stand when Artest ran up to him. Totally crapped his pants.
Ahhh my judment would be to suspend Wallace and players who came off the bench for a few weeks for overreacting. i think Artest and Jackson need to sit down for a year without pay. No fines because i think some of those guys in the stands who will sue will get thier pay. And those chumps that came onto the court well, well i'm not certain but i know the fat guy has recieved punishment enough. Getting knocked the **** out on national t.v. haha oh man.... :p

DT, i am totally w/ Echo here. that fat dude got everything he deserved, and less.

Don't misunderstand the fans that came onto the court were morons and I think they share equal culpability. What makes some engineer think he can take on a 6'8" 250lb guy that is probably less than two steps removed from being a member of the crips or bloods is beyond me.

However, NBA players are completely out of control. The inmates are clearly running the asylum.

I strongly disagree with the ESPN talking heads that seemed to have sided with the players. Those athletes are professionals. They said that, "They have to put up with constant heckling.". So what? Those guys have been playing competitive b-ball for as much as 20 years. If you can't tune out the crowd by this point.....please. Besides, for the kinda money these guys get paid a few momma jokes shouldn't bother them. Heck, for 1/2 of what they make you could have someone stand on my front lawn and heckle me day and night. My reply would simply be, "Yeah? Well dig my checking account biiiiioooooootttch!"

The :nope: in response to echos post was in referance to http://www.ridemonkey.com/forums/announcement.php?f=2 just a reminder. The mods should hold themselves to at least the same standard as they so fairly and equitably  hold the rest of us to.

Just another reaon why basketball is the biggest joke in the world. I mean seriously. The men's team got bronze and they should have won gold. Shaq has turned into the biggest whiner in the league. Kobe is a rapist, Iverson needs to be shot. And yes that fat guy got what he deserved. Why cant these guys just realize it's a sport and not worth fighting over. Now if this was Hockey, then yeah, game on!!!!

Anyone who left the court should be kicked out of the sport for good. If you can't make shyt loads of $$$$$ and act like a human being you should be kicked out. You are supposed to be a role model and you should not be alowed to act like a thug. Even worse if anyone defends them it tells kids who look up to them that this is ok since it was an "emotional game".

Ironic you are complaining about bball having whiney players and then menion hockey..haha

The fat guy shouldn't have come onto the court, the scared crappless guy shouldn't have thrown the bottle. Skookum has the right plan of action for 'punishment'. And that fat guy is gonna get some serious coin.

That's great.

EDIT:

But you know what? It's really pretty sad, because crap like this, caused by a bunch of thug idiots is the reason I quit watching basketball anyway. You think you'd ever see Michael Jordan, Magic or any of those guys doing such ridiculous crap? Sure, fights are going to happen in any sport but my god, basketball needs to be cleaned up. I hate it right now.

Well Mr. Holier than everyone, I don't know what I ever did to you that you feel the need to constantly try to start crap with me, but you can kiss my ass. The mods here are VERY lenient. In fact, with all your whining and bitching and crying about how we aren't fair or equitable, I've yet to see you come up with even ONE example to back up all your pathetic complaining.

It's hard to tell, but I think it might have been Jermain O'Neal, not Jackson. There are certainly a bunch of people who deserve blame in this, but it kinda of seems that Ron Artest is involved in more of the "incidents" week to week than anyone else. They should kick his a$$ out of the league and he can go produce the R&B album he wanted to take time off for. The pathetic players union will probably try to appeal the fines, and not admit blame. I used to love NBA basketball. :dead:

Agreed, if anyone has never been hit by a full bottle or can, trust me, that stuff f'n hurts. I got hit with a full soda bottle a few years back from about 30 feet and had a massive bruise on my face that hurt for a couple weeks.

Q. Richardson said it best, "... those fans are definitely gonna sue for some NBA money."

Which pro sport has a rule that any fan/non-player stepping foot into the playing field is trespassing? Anyway, the guy who threw the chair is probably going to get a couple weeks/months in prison and/or a huge fine. Plus, a HUGE lawsuit from the old lady he hit.

i definately wouldn't side with the players, like someone else said, you can pay me a million or two and i would be glad to be heckled all day and all night, **** even poor a beer on me i wouldn't care....artest is gonna get the big one, he is just a problem child, but it really doesnt matter he is a friggin milliionaire ten time over so i am sure he could give a rats ass...as for fat boy, wouldn't say he got what he deserved, but keep you ass off the court and certainly don't start walking up to a dude with a bad temper who just went in the stands after some other dude...kudos to the guys who were really trying to break it up though.

best all-time crowd bumrush was the bruins, after stan jonathon got hit in the head w/ a bottle, terry o'reilly, peter mcnab (!) and mike milbury beat the hell out of some people, even using their own shoes to put one upside the head. that was classic. damn NY fans. they got the beatdown. :D

interesting side note, i know Dennis Rodman has been trying unsucessfully to get back into the league. This incident (right or wrong) has possibly shut the door on the possibility, or perhaps opened it for a job in Indiana?

Sorry buddy u need to check your facts. Michael Jordan was anything but peaceful on the court. I can recount many a time when he threw his fair amount of punches. As for magic thats a different story. Do you not remember the brawls Reggie Miller and Michael used to get into during the pacers/ bulls final?
