hey, I have a job interview tomorrow and was embarrassed at my last interview when the guy asked me if I had a website. So, I built one, if you have a few minutes to look it over, maybe spot a typo, or some other errors, I'd appreciate your feedback. I'll break it up into multiple pages in the near future, but needed to get something done now since I'm gonna burn the site to a CD to leave at their office tomorrow.

thanks!

Looks pretty good. Lots of good content, plenty of expereience and proven performance.

As far as formatting... I don't know websites that well, but if possible these are the changes I would make:

Have a tab immediately available at the side to jump to each of your functional areas. Someone you send to the site may be willing to read through it narrative style, but someone that happens upon it or who has never met you will want to go straight to the work. Might be hard to do that without screwing up the format theme though, which I like.

Rather than open with the narrative, use an "About" tab next to the others. I think you're work and your "im-pos-si-ble..." opening are more interesting than a narrative one, and that may help move those closer to the top.

Seperate "Steve Cohn's Portfolio" into two lines:
Steve Cohn
Portfolio

or at least Steve Cohn * Portfolio
it sounds more professional

Best of luck!

Some Typos
IA Pocket Folder was hit, particularly with the media and partners as the extended back made it easy to find and reference.
Think you mean "a" hit.

While I love working on teams, this was a completely solo projects, but my thanks to the TechTeam who answer a million questions from me this two week production.
Solo "Project" singular

If you're familiar with multimedia production, you know that's an extremely short-time frame
short timeframe

ImmunomicsOnline site has been changed, I will be uploading the site I did from my personal archives shortly, please check back soon.
That's three seperate sentences.

Im not familiar with web design too much, but those were all the grammar mistakes I saw.

The work is good...but the site is a lot to scroll through and read through. Most employers I've worked with don't wanna read, they just wanna skim.

thanks all! I know the site design is lacking, but I needed something fast and I'll probably rebuild the whole thing in Flash.

BS, thank you so much for catching those typos. I was getting bug-eyed last night and was just setting on the fly :dead:

just a couple nits.

recommend changing "...in Adobe Acrobat format" to "pdf (portable document format)" the latter is a more recognized nomenclature, although both are true.

"...but you probably already have them on your computer" borders on stream-of-consciousness.

yeah, quick jumps like above have said. (you got the 'top' tags already, so you're 1/2 way there.)

graphics are tight & light - all good there.

i used to get e-letters from HTML-goodies, but they're mostly a newbie site. perhaps try various versions of various browsers(?). not that anyone uses lynx thesedays.

Not the whole thing please.

I'll try and find some sites where, like your case, a portfolio is animated in a flash movie but it's just one specific section of the page, the rest of the site is done w/out flash. :)

Flash is a tool bro, you know that. Just cuz I want to put the whole thing in flash, doesn't mean it's going to be "animated". Flash would allow me to effectively and efficiently present the info in a way that html can't.

Thanks again everyone for the suggestions. I'll continue to work my virtual portfolio, but G-d willing, I'll land this gig. The interview went well and now I just need to keep pestering 'em. I'll send a thank you email tomorrow, but need to think of creative ways of keeping my resume on the top without annoying 'em.
