Like I said, use the buy and sell. This is pure spam, post this there and no one will have a problem with it.

Over all these years I think that's the one thing that's always hurts the most...it's not "how much can I get for my XXX" , it's "how much of a hit am I willing to take!"

wow, guys, He's just asking a question. no need to be a dick about it.

I'd say roughly half of retail is what you normally get for bikes more than a year old, especially dh bikes. So whatever it was when it was new, I'd just take half of that as your asking price. After looking at the pictures I'd say you could probably get 3000 for it. I might even ask a bit more and know that people will talk you down. Looks like its in great shape.

    Hope that helps.

I've always used the 30% rule - the first year it is worth 30% less than the retail price, the second year it is worth 30% less than it was the year before and so on.
Say it retailed for $3500. After one year it would be worth $2450.
After the second year $1715, etc.
A lot depends on condition and how good a saleman you are.
I've found selling things here not very fruitful. Too many people have connections and everyone else knows it so they don't want to pay anything.
    Try Pinkbike, MTBR and/or Ebay.

    ...Jeez.

Transcend, look at the name of the poster above you. You're yelling at the wrong guy. It was Xemini who asked the original question.

    Transcend:

Go easy on him - this kid has like 9 posts and is new here... as someone who has seniority, one would expect a more friendly welcome to the community from you.

Look, if you're still there Xemini - don't mind Transcend. He's just pissed because Orange 224's don't come in the exclusive "Battleship Grey" color anymore. :blah: :D

To answer your question, I would say that it depends on a lot of things when determining the value of your rig. Try going on ebay or checking out the Buy/Sell forum we have here to see what similar bikes are going for. We also have a HUGE achive, so check there as well.

    Hope this helps.
