Do NOT get a tent without a full-coverage fly. Trust me on this. Unless you're going to be camping in places it NEVER rains.
Not having a full coverage fly doesn't mean it won't keep the rain out. The main issue with a non full coverage fly is that the panels that aren't covered need to be waterproof. That means they won't breathe and will collect condensation. So it might keep the rain out but the condensation could "rain" on you.

Not having a full coverage rain fly makes it VERY likely you're gonna get wet if it rains.
