Anyone have some spare parts kicking around they'll let go for cheap/beer?

I need a 31.8 short stem for 1 1/8th steerer and some Hayes brake pads (anything but Stroker/El Crapino should work) so I can get my MTB running again.

School screwed up and wants to charge me an extra $1200 this semester, so I'm in the poor house...any leads on parts appreciated. Thanks in advance, kiddies!
