That's right, Nepal, the country with a ruling communist party, living goddesses, and a prince that looks like Elvis, legalized gay marriage.

Close on the heels of an international furore over the state of California’s decision to ban same-sex marriages, the apex court of nascent Himalayan republic Nepal has given its nod to such unions.

“My eyes were filled with tears when I read the Supreme Court decision,” said Sunil Babu Pant, Nepal’s first publicly gay lawmaker and a gay rights icon in South Asia.

and since they've a maoist gov't, you have to wonder if the PRC is licking their chops at a solution to the burgeoning male population

ed: legal age to marry in nepal is 22 for men still; is that progressive?

well that would mean that marriage and procreation are significantly intertwined, and i don't think you have the appropriate baptism bona fides to suggest this
