Thought you guys might be interested in some new crowns made by a local aussie mountain bike manufacturer aireal industries.

www.airealindustries.com

Nothing on their site about it yet but they are made.

Top crown: $170.00 AUS ~ $135US
Bottom crown: $195.00 AUS ~ $150US
Complete set inc steerer (alloy or Cro Mo) $300.00 AUS ~$235US

Thats all i know at the moment. Prices are correct i think.

damn, I wonder how many aftermarket crowns there are gonna be? My buddy's starting a new company, and they've got some 888 crowns as well. Some cool as stems and chainguides as well

It gives us Australians an option without having to screw about with OS orders... alas, if it's along the lines of the rest of their products, I'd wait until someone else buys one and see how they go before I bought one.

Eric from France,
Dunshee never answered my multiple PMs about his 888 that he had for sale either. He lost that sale. My buddy ordered another 888 instead.

Any reson why no one is making after market crowns with a 1.5 steerer?
Because there is simply no point to it. Double crown forks negate the need or usefulness of an oversized steerer tube - so why limit your market to only those who have 1.5 headtubes?

Lets not even go there. Owning a frame with a 1.5 headtube I think it would be cool to have a 888 with a 1.5 steerer. Though not useful or necessary it would be cool: like a CVT on DH bike (take the bait. Take it...)

Actually, no. As I told you and your buddy, I sold the first, and only black ano'd fork locally before I got pics, which you kept requesting. I sent you pics of the regular non anodized fork. I wasn't going to ano another fork with out getting prepaid, too much hassle.

And I didn't loose that sale, I called your buddy and spoke with him, and he said that he needed to check into getting a paypal account, and he would get back to me, which he never did, even though I emailed him a few days later to see if he was still interested, and he never got back to me. I didn't loose that sale, he simply didn't want to purchase it.

Does that chain guide look exactly like a blackspire or is it just me?
Nup, you're right, it's a direct copy. Aireal pretty much admit it. They're damn cheap over here tho (relatively), $210au for the Aireal compared to $350 for an MRP/e13/Blackspire.

Don't you make a confusion with a French friend of mine who orders 2 items too ?
Can you e-mail me or PM the tracking number ?

It's seems ok ... I was just advertised of the arrival of a parcel from the US this morning ...
Will post later on, to confirm everything is OK, no concern about the prices ... wonder how he can manage such low prices ?

Thanks to you Partsbara for trying to reassure us !
