Studies show in coordination drills for hand/eye coordination, that wearing dark color gloves is a hindrance. In the studies, they found that the hand/eye coordination and dexterity of athletes, workers, etc when wearing highly visible gloves was slightly better than those with black or brown gloves.
I think the study used assembly workers, football wide receivers, motorcycle riders and a few other fields. That was one of the big "mysterys" behind Steve peat switching to the solid white Troy Lee XC gloves a few years back. It was a rumored that his coach had him switch to them for that reason, not the "bling" factor.
i can see that this would apply if yer dirt jumping and doing no-hander moves. but when you're just riding a bike there's no hand-eye coordination going on, any more than there is hand-foot coordination going on.
