New BMX shop in Tacoma?

I have a friend who got me back into BMX recently after a....lets just say its been awhile :D

We've been toying with the idea of opening a BMX only shop in Tacoma (pierce co). From what I've seen, the sport has grown quite a bit since my days. With all the support out there from various companies like X games, Monster, Redbull, etc, it looks to only get bigger.

The store would cater to all aspects of the BMX culture. Everything from frame, parts, clothing, completes so on and so on. Sorta like a Danscomp but in the NW and probably not quite that large in scale.

Is there room and demand for such a shop?
I just like to hear your opinions before we begin working on a solid business plan.

I wouldn't exclude the big wheeled dirt jumpers.

they run the same cranks, stems, pedals, brake cables, seats, grips, levers, etc. but they don't wear spandex....;)

The saying goes, if you want to make a million dollars in bikes, start with two million. BMX seems like a tough place to make a dollar. But I think it could work if you targeted the rest of the people that are riding bikes in the same fashion (juming/parks) and make a shop that caters to that market.

If your referring to 26,29er single speed dual suspension rigs. Yes, they are part of the product line up. Keep the suggestions and opinions coming :thumb:

Haha, if you run it anything like your shop in Everett. It's going to work out. BTW, welcome back to the other two wheeled sport.:thumb:
