I have been using a 02 super t on my bullit for 2 seasons now and am thinking about getting a 05 Manitou firefly plus. I have always had marzocchis and was wondering what you guys thought about this fork?

I am thinking My super t is a little overkill seing I only go dhing a couple times a year and am thinking the manitou will do the job on the trails, lighten up the bike a little and probrably climb a little better, but will it suffice at the ski areas? Thanks

I would definately checkout the

Z1FR1 150mm
Z1FR2 150mm (with spacer movement)

Nothing wrong with Shermans, but a friend of mine who has gone from zocchis to a sherman noticed an increase in service intervals and general maintenance.

I say stick with the 02 Super T. Its light enough for trail and good enough for DH. It has the better dampening in BOTH legs, while a lot of the newer Zoke forks only have the high end dampening in one leg. Plus you can adjust the height in the crowns, just lower it enough that the tire doesn't hit the lower crown upon bottoming out the fork. Man the 02 Super T is still a great fork. I have one on my trail bike and the bike still weighs mid 30s.

I agree with Kanter, stick with what you have unless you like spending $$$$ :D The 02 SuperT is a great fork for what you have in mind, your turning radius will be less than a single crown. I had the 05 Flick Plus on my trailbike and liked it, and I ned to try the Firefly for comparison still yet, but its hard to beat the Marz stuff.

The only thing I have ever done to my 02 is seals and oil. The thing feels amazing. I think it felt better than the 03 Super T I had. Plus you can fit a huge tire on the 02 Super T. The Zoke you can set and forget. I bet my 02 Super T has around 2000 miles on it of XC/DH/FR and lots of lift access and the thing just looks and feels new. I love the fact that you can just take the stickers off and repolish it and put new stickers on it and it looks new again. Man did I mention I love the 02 Super T. There were a few tuning tricks for the 02 but I forget what it was. Something about drilling out one of the dampening holes. I read about it on NSMB a lot time ago. I never did the mod as the fork felt so good. Anyone know what I am talking about??

the only thing I have heard is drilling out the HSCV for faster oil return so it wont pack up, but I dont know why one would need to in the first place as I have never seen the forks pack up anyways. But sounds like this is a trail fork so go wit it and ride the fork... spend the cash on something else

The only reason to switch to a SC and an inch less travel is if the majority of your rides are XC. To prevent the dreaded disease of knee to crown ;) I will not run a DC for a ride with any serious singletrack climbing for this reason.
