First of all try to avoid trees when riding or at least try to pass them without body contact. I once knew a guy who wanted to e[nduro] quite hard, booked an e[nduro] trip to Tenerife and ended up with a 5th metacarpus like that on the first ride.

Interesting, looks like an X-ray pic I know very well ;-). Wider is not always better...
