True Precision Stealth hubs. They're getting redesigned for 06, plus they are made in Goleta. Instead of having a ratchet engagement, they have this expanding disc that offers instant engagement, and it makes no sound whatsoever. The guy who makes em used to work for Chris King.

true but expencive and hopes come in the different colors to. Byut if your not paying go for them, but remmeber oliver regrets spending a lot of money on his because soon you will want to change to a bike with a 10 12 or even 15 mm hubs which mean you will have to sell the hadleys.

no because u can buy an axle conversion for the haldey to make it 10 or 12 mm (Which is wut the stab is) and i would only get black hubs cuz their easier to sell if i ever want to

Go for the CK!!! I got them recently and I have never had a better set of hubs. The Hadleys seem awesome too, but I just like the CK better...

I'm happy running Hopes.
Light (Ti freehub body), work great, not retarded expensive. And they're pretty, too.

Stealth hubs dont click, because they dont use a ratchet. If you can afford to wait a while, the new design is supposed to solve the exploding-hub syndrome that plagued the old ones

Hope Bulbs or the new Hope Pro hubs (can change rear axle 10-12mm). Almost as light as Kings, has stronger Ti cassette body like Hadley. Very smooth. Mine is 2 years old, no play at all. Cheaper than both (try dropnzone.com for killer quotes - tell Allan ALejandro sent ya). Front converts form 20mm to QR.

I have mine laced to 823 tubeless for 4X racing & DJing.

I have Hadleys, and to be honest, they are a type of part you put on a bike and forget. I don't see how you can be not impressed with a Hope hub. If your friend is having problems, he probley did something wrong and it probley not the hub. Hopes and Hadleys are amazing all together seeing as I have had both. When your pinning it down a trail, the last thing you will hear it your hub unless its wicked loud which neither are.

Get whichever, Hadleys are cheaper and IMO better, but not to contradict myself when I said, a hub is a hub, if your using it for the correct purpose, it should do fine unless something internally is wrong, and that is a factory error.

They're also quite a bit more expensive. If your frame came with a Ringle, then is it a 12mm thru axle? If it is, that kind of makes your decision for you.

Judging by the question, your skill level probably isn't to the point where you'll notice the quicker engagement (assuming you don't get the trials freehub), so why not save some cash? i'm perfectly happy with my Hopes, just make sure you get the bulb. If you're dead set on the best, get King, but it really just isn't worth it...at least to me.

hadley. while not the lightest they are the stongest. also like others said you put then on and don't realize the you have hubs until you have to rebiuld the wheel because you broke the rim. at this time you realize that through all this time and neglect that they are still perfect!

hadley on the only choice for strong hubs in my opinion. i have never had ck but i can't stand the noise. i have had hope though and my hadleys were WAY better. the noise that hadley's make in like i have just engaged and will not slip. they go click, click, click. the faster you go the faster that difine click goes. it does not sound like bee's at any speed.

Why not just go the cheap route and do an XT rear hub and a Marzocchi front? They work fine and you save money you can put towards something that matters.

so what, that your friend's got a ck, if you can live with what you have now and don't HAVE to spend money live with what you got.

i still say hadley in the end. i have 6 rear hadley hubs. nothing has beaten them in my opinion. and i've had the ck and the older stealth(until it died 4months later) they're a bitch to get too. you can get the trials hadley freehub and just use a little more hadley lube then usual and it will quiet down quite a bit.

Play is adjustable. And do you really need good engagement on a DH bike?
yes, i think you do. i want a quick pedal in when i'm thru rough stuff or around a bend.

I'd have to disagree with that. Hubs are a part of the bike that you are going to notice quite a bit, especially the rear hub. I ended up with a rear XT that has started loosening up chronically, and I have to tighten the cones every other ride or so. If anything get a good rear hub and a lesser quality front as you will notice any faults in a rear hub far before you will notice it in the front.

yea my friend kills himself becaus it was like 550 for the hubs front and rear for the CK and the hadleys are a hell of a lot less and the hopes are even less so he is wondering why he got the ck. has anyone tried the hadley 10mm bolt on kit for the rear hub and compared it to the CK fun bolt?
