"Angel Fire Resort is becoming a national hub for world-class sporting events," sid Jon Mahanna, Angel Fire Resort's general manager. "At nearly 11,000 feet, we have two high-speed chair lifts, the challenging trails and the facilities to make this the ideal racing location. We've just hosted the USA Snowboard Association National Championships and now we have one of the biggest mountain biking events in the world coming to Angel Fire. We've been one of New Mexico's best kept secrets and that's starting to change."
"We chose Angel Fire Resort for its challenging mountain trails," said Christopher Burri, UCI events coordinator. "The terrain on the Sangre de Cristo mountain range provides the ultimate challenge for the world's best mountain bikers, and the resort itself has the perfect accommodations to meet the needs of our organization."
The Angel Fire World Cup will feature downhill, cross country and four-cross races.
