Sorry to shoot this one down right off the bat, but seriously, I'm having a hard time finding any positive adjectives to describe what the axle path and braking will be like... The BB is so closely linked in it's pivot points to the swingarm that this bike is essentially a sweet spot URT, so the axle path is virtually insignificant, and the high single pivot is NOT good for braking. At best, this will brake as well as a Giant DH with no floater, but I think it will actually be closer to a BB7 with no floater.bikegeek1 said:

Don't know if it's already been said - but based solely on first impressions, that bike bears a striking resemblance to the new Schwinn I saw advertised the other day - also produced by Pacific. Also, I'm sure other people have their reasons for hating Mongoose - but personally it kind of pissed me off when I snapped the swingarm on my 4 Banger several years ago - only to find that Pacific had just bought Schwinn.
I don't know, I think those bikes look quite good. Different, but good. I don't know much about suspension designs so I can't talk tech about the pros/cons on that particuar design. I do agree that the 1500 Single should not have Alivo parts, thats pretty sad. The double is attractive though, nice parts and a killer orange/black paint scheme. Decent price too I think. What I am wondering about is if that design is susposed to eliminate pedal bob as well as improve braking, because when I look around what I see is promises to improve braking performance, not a whole lot about improving pedaling. Doesn't look to heavy either, I think it could be a good all around freerider.

Second: EC i rumoured to be riding REAL Mongoose next year, Black Diamond for DH and Teocali for 4x.
The reason for EC not too run mongoosebikes is off course that mongoose haven't had a bike for him to ride, so he rides the best, Turner
Now he has been doing work with Mongoose to design and modell real bikes, better bikes for 4x, and maybe dh.

The first batch of Black Diamonds arrived here in Norway on friday and importer has one assembled as we speak. I'll try to go there and take a few pics next week.

I just hope some bike stores get those bikes here in Canada, you only see Mongoose BMX in Canada. So I might not be able to get one even if I wanted to. I honestly think that the Double is one of the coolest looking bikes I have ever seen (if it had a different top tube it would be even better) and I know looks don't make a bike good, but damn.

they are using a mass merchant distributor in quebec for 2005, which means you won't see them in any LBS, they may show up (the cheap ones) in some big box stores thoughTharkun said:

I tihnk it would be great to see mongoose pick things up and build a nice highend line. Look at IronHorse this year - they're really turned themselves around and have one sweet line set up for this year. There's no denying that mongoose has the facilities to make lots of good bikes - I for one would like to see them go for it.

EC is suppose to be riding the team model of the black diamond this comming year check it out on there website
