Howdy all.

I was an avid bmx rider in my youth. Now I'm fighting off bad knees by getting back into riding. I got stuck on the singlespeed idea since it is most like my bmx bikes were.

I bought a new bike...probably spent more than I needed to. I'll feel better if i know it was a decent deal. Fully built salsa Juan solo. Rim brakes, surly hubs and forks, I don't even know what the other parts are. The owner of my local bike shop built it himself a few years ago and put a price of $1120 on it. I walked in to it being discounted to $820. I paid $600. I know I got it for cheaper than he wanted to well it for, but I dont know much about the bike scene these days.

I like riding it. I already plan on changing out some of the parts, like the rock hard seat and the no rise bars. Otherwise it feels good. What's with all the squeaking though? My old bmx bikes didn't squeak this much when new. They also weren't scandium and carbon fiber.

Anyway, hello and good riding!
