new Rear Derailleur?

    so my local shop told me i need anew one, so im looking at getting e new one. i was wondering what you guys think is a good one for FR and DH. i was thinking maybe going short cage..but i dont know too much about a short cage one.
    i have 2006 Kona Stinky Deluxe if that matters.
    so whats your opinion? derailleurs

    i was thinking about SRAM X-9

    Medium cage if your running 2 gears up front
    short cage if your running 1
    SRAM X-9

    Depends if you like shimano style shifters or sram. I personaly love sram style shifters, only thing they've done good.

    just because you have a single chain ring in the front doesn't necessarily mean a short cage will work. If your running an 11-34t cassette with a 36t chain ring you'd probably be ok, but a 38t with the same cassette and probably not

    Med cage x7. Cheap. Reliable. These things tend to blow up anyway, so why spend a fortune?
