I only have $350 in the discretionary budget for next month. There was a sale on shotguns at the local sporting goods store, this being my first "home protection" device. But I realize I have been driving around for a year without a car stereo.

What should I get, a new car stereo or a new shotgun.

Shotgun. Take shotgun to car window (not yours). Acquire stereo.

Do I need to do all the thinking here??

yup keep hunting till you can get both. You just need a radio and one of them fm transmitters for your ipod. = cheap. Then get a shotgun

Is a shotgun sufficient for the mean streets of SF? The Feather Boa Strangler might be wearing ceramic armor.

I've got my eye on this beauty. But not for home protection that is what the DPG is for.
For shooting tasty pheasants & quail.

Shotgun lasts a lifetime or more if you take care of it. Stereo...never had one for more than a few years.

Move into your car. Nothing is more fearsome than a chinaman behind the wheel of an automobile. :monkey:

e: added monkey to avoid boycott of dan-o inc.

stop buying cheap radios and theyll last
My issue has been leaving them in the vehicles when I sell rather than removing them and finding the original or a cheap replacement. Plus, by the time I'm done with the car there's a better head unit available. $300 is around what I normally spend.
