Hi All,
A lot of you may have already seen this, but check out the new Kona Stab, complete with Marz 888 and Fox Vanilla DH with remote resivour. Anyone been lucky enought to ride either of these new suspension components or seen them in the shops yet?

p.s. Sorry about the image size

the vanilla DH was on all the Stabs last year (current year, i guess), so I'm sure a few people have ridden them. Except that at $5000 for a KONA, I don't imagine too many people actually shelled out.

Well the 888 isnt available to the public yet (other than pre-orders) so chances are no one has ridden it. As for the shock, seen several units that were being tested by two local riders.... from what I saw though I am going to stay away for a while... they had more problems.

Hey Pluto,
Do you know what kind of problems were they experiencing? What kind of bikes were they mounted on?

How about that 888? Is it $888US :D

I'm seriously considering a big bike upgrade for next year and was really hoping that 888 isn't toooo expensive.

Anyone know what kind of pricing the Vanilla DH will have? If it's anywhere near a 5th, Romic or Avy I think they are in trouble. I'm thinking all the bikes that are spec'ed with a Vanilla RC are due to pricing.

Ah, this damn biking addiction is getting expensive :help:

I'm running the vanilla dh on my stab primo just now and its amazing, highly recommend it. Had it for a few months now with no problems whatsoever.

Word on the 888r is that it should be available sometime in Oct...
but who knows, I have ridden it, just breifly
feels like the shiver (not surprising since the same internals), but lighter.
and stiffer, far far stiffer.
from what I have been told it should retail under 1700 canadian.
but I wont hold my breath for either an october release or that price tag....
The source was reliable....but things often change..

I just preordered one last week.

A couple of things...

1. They are retailing for under $1100 US.

2. The production units are totally different then the Shiver. Some of the pre production forks were made with Shiver internals.

Can't wait to get mine! :D

I heard that last year the Vanilla DHs had so many issues that Kona changed the spec midyear to a Vanilla RC. Never ridden one or know firsthand what the problems were but that's what I heard. I've seen a few and they look nice, though:D
