I went to practice for the race at Northstar this Saturday on my trusty Karpiel Disco Volante', and when I showed up BEHOLD... My new V-10 had arrivied from Santa Cruz. I really didn't plan on racing it right away because I stll needed a few things for it. Well... it must have been my lucky weekend, because by the end of the day I had all that I needed to build it up. So I went home still not sure if I should build it up. Got home, looked at it for about five minutes, and said "man I just waisted five minutes". Took me about two hours to build it... not bad. Sunday comes and I get on the hill not knowing what to expect. I get to the top of the Vista lift hop on and the first thing I notice is how much steeper the bike is compared to the old V-10. The other is the weight. My bike came in at 40 lbs with a Boxxer/XO/Dual Duty combo!!! Making it quite a nimble ride. As I pick up speed the bike is not making a single noise... nothing but tire!!! I even looked down to see if the chain had come off. Yep still there! I can not stress how smooth this bike rides. I'll make the rest of this short! Took two practice runs with my jaw hanging open at the bottom both time. Went back to the top took my first race run in Pro men and was third fastest of the day with a 3:47 on Karpiel/Speed Control/Nam. That's 27 sec faster than I've EVER done that trail!!! The bike handles the rough soooooo good and now they can turn too. turns on a dime... gives 5 cent change. Great bike Santa Cruz... sell thousands!!!!
