Good combo for hardpack racing

what bike are you on these days?A lot of hardpack in my future.
Nicolai Saturn 14 going on its 3rd season.what bike are you on these days?
Bloody expensive, but the Fanatik ones were a few hundred dollars off. I like that I can still use regular 30mm bearings and not dipshit proprietary (to cycling) bearings.I’m probably gonna get some 160 Sweet wings…
Nothing but good things to say about my eewings too!Welp, the little-person cranks did fix my pedal-banging issue, so there's that. And 2g lighter than my previous XX1 setup (but 10mm shorter).

Now to find all the other bits. I can't decide on a fork... need a 29 140mm. Looking at FOX 36 and Cane Creek Helm air or coil.
I found an XL v5 5010 on Jenson for 2000. Pretty stoked on it! Now I have to go through the couch and everyone elses couch to find money for the parts.More pics. Of the truck
Which SC is it? I keep pondering a Hightower if the frames get cheap enough in the next few weeks with the new model supposedly coming out.
Helm might still be on sale. Now to find all the other bits. I can't decide on a fork... need a 29 140mm. Looking at FOX 36 and Cane Creek Helm air or coil.
Theyre 800 on Jenson I think. Universal has 2023 Grip2 36 for 700. I never know what to pick. I just stick it on the bike ans smash it into stuff anyways.Helm might still be on sale.

They make a lot of money, that's what they make...What do SC make in America?
I thought it was all China or Taiwan.
I had a quick read of this puff piece and it sounded like all bikes were made there but it seems they are using "Factory" when they really should be using "Big bike shop".They make a lot of money, that's what they make...

I went with a 5010 v5! Pretty stoked. I scored the last one on Jenson for just under 2k!My vote is Ohlins. But you didn't list it.
My latest 36 which came on a bike has a weird thud in it. Cane Creek has never been reliable, in my experience.
What frame? Cool box, tho.
Maybe I need to learn to scoll down more before asking silly questions. HA. Stoked for you! New bike day!
I don't know much about the SOLO, 5010 whatever they had to call it. Pretty sure you can over fork it. I have a 36/160mm on a chameleon. It's fine. But it's my dj/pump track bike. Not my daily driver. I like that I can stuff the front end in an emergency and totally be fine.I went with a 5010 v5! Pretty stoked. I scored the last one on Jenson for just under 2k!

I would run Ohlins in a heart beat but I dont know what it takes to make a 36mm Ohlins fork into a 140mm.
Fox is easy to convert to 140mm... Cane Creek is even easier to change travel. Thats where I'm at. No Pike or Lyric for me unless I can be convinced theyre better. I had a Pike Ultimate on a hardtail and it was nice and light but also flexy/creaky.

Nice one. But why you no Stihl?Grabbed a saw so I can cut stuff down behind house in canyon to make drops and ladders..going to chop some stuff down for boxxes for step downs..
1 clears first danger in canyon, 2 gives me a place to go build drops and jumps...
I'm taking fence above air bag run in and making a gate, right behind it will be a ladder out that will be a drop into canyon or a platform for an extra run in for airbag...
Yes I got clearance from wife!!!

Are you in the Polygon group?I almost bought a Tyee, but joined the Propain FB group first and I’ve never seen another thread with so many cracked frames and broken bolts.
