Welp, the little-person cranks did fix my pedal-banging issue, so there's that. And 2g lighter than my previous XX1 setup (but 10mm shorter).

I’m probably gonna get some 160 Sweet wings…
Bloody expensive, but the Fanatik ones were a few hundred dollars off. I like that I can still use regular 30mm bearings and not dipshit proprietary (to cycling) bearings.

More pics. Of the truck :D

Which SC is it? I keep pondering a Hightower if the frames get cheap enough in the next few weeks with the new model supposedly coming out.
I found an XL v5 5010 on Jenson for 2000. Pretty stoked on it! Now I have to go through the couch and everyone elses couch to find money for the parts.

Its a 24' XL Maverick w/ tow package all gas awd, I put rims and tires on it within 250 miles of owning it and had the bed sprayed with a liner is all so far.

They make a lot of money, that's what they make...
I had a quick read of this puff piece and it sounded like all bikes were made there but it seems they are using "Factory" when they really should be using "Big bike shop".
How much power do you need to assemble bikes?

Found an EXT shock on the local Craigslist, right size to fit my son's Ransom. The price was right too: same price as 2 (overpriced) coil springs from EXT if you buy them locally! Couldn't resist :D

Have been pretty happy with mine on my Ransom so far. His is tuned for Transition Sentinel so it might need retuning, specially considering his light weight (55kg or around 120lbs)

Not mine. Helping a friend build up a used/parts bin 2nd bike with a few new bits.

Now to find all the other bits. I can't decide on a fork... need a 29 140mm. Looking at FOX 36 and Cane Creek Helm air or coil.
My vote is Ohlins. But you didn't list it.

My latest 36 which came on a bike has a weird thud in it. Cane Creek has never been reliable, in my experience.

What frame? Cool box, tho.

Maybe I need to learn to scoll down more before asking silly questions. HA. Stoked for you! New bike day!

I went with a 5010 v5! Pretty stoked. I scored the last one on Jenson for just under 2k!

I would run Ohlins in a heart beat but I dont know what it takes to make a 36mm Ohlins fork into a 140mm.

Fox is easy to convert to 140mm... Cane Creek is even easier to change travel. Thats where I'm at. No Pike or Lyric for me unless I can be convinced theyre better. I had a Pike Ultimate on a hardtail and it was nice and light but also flexy/creaky.

I don't know much about the SOLO, 5010 whatever they had to call it. Pretty sure you can over fork it. I have a 36/160mm on a chameleon. It's fine. But it's my dj/pump track bike. Not my daily driver. I like that I can stuff the front end in an emergency and totally be fine.

That being said, wouldn't mind a 5010 either. Although at the moment, I'm trying to figure out how to justify to the wife a GT Fury DH bike. Garage space is running thin. Then justify the 3hr drive (one way) to Keystone or Steamboat to ride it to its potential. Bah Bikes. :D

But dude. That's a sweet looking ride right thar!

The 5010/Solo is 130/140 and I like that way. I like shorter travel bikes and every time I've over forked something I always go back to less travel. I'm excited to build it up!

Grabbed a saw so I can cut stuff down behind house in canyon to make drops and ladders..going to chop some stuff down for boxxes for step downs..
1 clears first danger in canyon, 2 gives me a place to go build drops and jumps...
I'm taking fence above air bag run in and making a gate, right behind it will be a ladder out that will be a drop into canyon or a platform for an extra run in for airbag...

Yes I got clearance from wife!!!

SCORE...
That's a good deal I got my nomad gen 6 CC for $1850 from Jenson...love that bike...
Santa Cruz has done a good job with ride quality over last couple gens...
Ohlins uses a air can you have to disassemble yours and slap this on which is a good thing you can take out negative air spacer in there...a small white ring in blue chamber , has to be pulled apart it won't usually tap out so you can get ahold of it..

Nothing new. Just the more I ride it, the more I like it.

If the new Tyee didn't have dumb-ass headset cable tourism, would probably sell this and the Commencal Clash to build up a doitall bike with a couple wheelsets.
