Warning: garvel bike content.
Spending more time on this to let my thumb heal up means this bike is getting more love. Bits to make it more comfortable. Blurring the lines between this bike and my hardtail. No suspension, skinnier tires, geometry like my first mtb from 1990.

Moved the Schwalbe ( with a Vittoria Air Liner) to the back for the skinny Ground Control up front. Gel pads under the bar tape. Dropper post.

Aside: for a 27.2mm dropper, One Up v3 is
far superior to the others I've had a chance to try. The WolfTooth dropper remote is excellent.

If that’s a v3, is that stock saddle hardware for the 27.5?
All of the other sizes are different than that.
(but I see the Ti Bling)

Parts bin booty. Ti bolts. POP upper bits, lower bit from an old Gravity Dropper.

I too am riding mostly paved roads/paths right now while recovering. But I'm riding my fat bike with studded tires. Because I like the sound they make.

Wait, what are we talking about here, again?
Gravel riding on gravel, or light duty xc on trails?
Its all just so confusing.
Yes.

Riding this forces me to take things easier. Less lkely to take the stupid options. As well, it puts my hand/thumb in a spot where there is no pain, and I can actually shift/brake easily. Was going to put a Grip shifter on the hardtail, but decided this is the better option for the circumstances.

If forced, I'd give up suspension before disc brakes, dropper posts and better/fatter/tubeless tires.

Companies still use a section of tube as a rail clamp?
I'm too fat for that, I need a clamp like this-

I think some light weight options do, yeah. This is off an ooooooooold post though. Still solid. I'm only about 70kg, so can get away with some more minimal options - particularly on a bike like this. The One Up posts on my hartail and trail bike have the stock clamps in use.

Who's kit are the blue presses? I think I have the same one...but just in plastic tub.

I have that. It'd be nice if there were more "in between" sizes, some monkey motion is required sometimes to get the puller in...but although janky, with a lot of bearings you don't have a better option, so it works.
Lol already looking to chop shaft down to 7" - 9" and cutting slide hammer 1/3 down. 14" is a bit much and hammer is a bit heavy ..
Can't do much about the inserts, so reduce back end down.

It does match the Enduro bearings puller...buddy has that at his shop and I think it's too long ..

Honestly the slide hammer should be long, I have a shorter smaller unit I bought separately at a bearing shop and it's not nearly as useful/able to pull out bearings. For real tight ones, you need that distance IME...also the heavy slide hammer.

IDK if that "T" handle on yours is loose, but on my the "T" parts are, you should weld that T together if yours is not connected.

What I meant is that to pull BB bearings, and a few others, I have to sometimes "compress" the puller to get it to fit in, vs. if I had the perfect size I wouldn't have to and I could easily fit it in, then expand, then pull. So sometimes you have to "make it fit" to get it in there IME.
