With the current generation of gloves being disposable after a crash this is reasonable and I fail to see an issue.
I'm lucky to get six months out of a pair of gloves before shredding them. I blame it on my caustic sweat and the East Coast nasty humid environment.

I'm obviously a sucker for certain colors and buy them when they are on sale and a size that works for me.

I've used the cheapy and more durable work gloves from the local hardware conglomerate stores. They last longer but the shitty comfort/feel on the bars and brakes is not worth the increased longevity

Nice! If you're having issues with holding air and sealant does not solve it check your rim tape. I just went deep down that rabbit hole troubleshooting mine and turns out its pretty easy to ding the tape while horsing a CC and tire on there (even doing it the right way). Double wrap of tape and being careful solved my problems. Also really really like smashing shit with CC on the DH bike. Worth the headaches IMO.
I can attest to this as well, drove me nuts!

i wear fingerless gloves when i do extreme gravel downhills, else gloveless to keep the seamless tan
Living in Berlin didn't have the best influence on you. Do you, by any chance, wear tight jeans and have a beard? ;)

In hell. Welcome!
Is that some sort of mudguard strapped behind the seattube?
Wireless shifter. With miniature wheels on a 29 frame, plenty of room behind the seat post for it.
I envisioned you as a 26forlife kind of person... is that your first 29er?
I am still a 26forlife DH bike person but my trail bikes have been 650b machines for a while now. This is my 4th 29 frame with 27 wheels and it is wicked low, 12.7" high BB for 160mm f/r. :panic:

A pair of 35mm internal width "e bike" rims for the dh bike. These things are like 180$ each in the US because E bike specific?
I got them for around 100 each on r2 bike.

I made up my mind a while back that I need to go from 30mm to 35mm wide.

Nothing wrong with my 30mm ex511
So I'm sitting here debating tearing down a perfect wheelset to replace the rims for that ultra important 5mm....

Tearing down a perfectl wheelset? That sounds like your time could be much better used.

I just did the front wheel

My Large mondraker is 35.xx lbs with a coil
It's light enough for me.
I like light wheels... these aren't all that light.
These rims weigh in at 622g which is a bit heavy
Still lighter than the ol mavic 823s were. I've got aerolight spokes up front and aerocomps in the back

For 27.5 2.5WT DHFs I think 35mm works but for other Maxxis tires I feel it is too wide. I am currently running a 2.5 Assegai, 2.4WT DHR2, 2.4 Dissector and 2.3 Aggressor. Funnily the 2.3 Aggressor feels like it has the most volume but I wouldnt run any of these on 25mm rim. The 2.5 DHF is a balloon and I really dislike it in 27.5. The 29" version is spot on, but then I wouldnt run it on a 35mm rim.

I haven't run any other tires in years so cannot comment on rims sizes.

What is the reason you chose to step up to 35mm?

My pivot 5.5 came with 36mm rims
I always thought the rear was too wide
I got hold of a 28mm set of the same rims and rode them back to back and was shocked that the 28mm rode harsher at any pressure and pinch flatted easily.
This is all with dhf 2.5 front and rear.

Made me wonder how I would like going from 30 to 35 on the dh bike.

I know,
27.5 and not high pivot idler I should probably chuck this hunk of junk
Meanwhile Loic Bruni runs EX471 on his Demo. No wonders he is so slow! ;) :D
Yeah I know what they all run. When I did the ex511 the choice was difficult between 471, 511 and 511 front 471 rear.
I think all of the dudes running a 471 probably have cush core. For guys that destroy rims I think narrow + cush core is win win. I don't really destroy rims and I found cush core to make my friends bike feel horrendous in a parking lot so I've never tried to run them myself. A cushcore weighs what 220g?
A 471 is 500g
A 511 is 535g
This 581 is 610g
It's half the difference in weight a cushcore would add...
plus bikes are over bro
Thanks.
But 2.5 on 35 doesn't qualify by 0.1" and 5mm
There's a lot of internet science about rounder tire profiles. Anyone ever look down when your riding along with say 30psi any size rim 25, 30, 35 and notice the bottom is squished flat regardless of its initial roundness or lack there of?
