Snazzy looking Canfield ya got there, although I’m still surprised it’s not an e-bike with the name “Lithium”. Will be keen to hear what you think of the Hazzard.

Thanks, bike is named after the trail in Jackson Hole/Teton Pass that is pretty ok fun to ride.

Initial impression of the Hazard is positive, there is a ton of range on the adjustments and I've heard some say that is a negative, I'm liking the fine tuning ability. The rebound adjuster is a 3mm allen vs a knob so you need a tool to adjust, which is my only complaint so far. The lockout is pretty aggressive but I don't plan to use it much so fine for the times I'm climbing actual road like grades. It's also a shock that lets you know it's working with a swishy sounding rebound circuit. This has never bothered me in the slightest but some care so worth noting. So far, I feel it is on par with top offerings out there, but more time will be needed to cement an opinion.

'Lithium' is a trail on Teton Pass. There used to be two other companion trails called 'Ritalin' and 'Skull-Fucker', which were named because trail building was the only thing that kept my friend Floyd sane. I helped route-find and build Ritalin. Those were fun times.

XC whip? Still need to swap some shorter cranks, bigger rotor in rear, longer dropper and a few other things, but this bike is a ripper! 40mm stem and a 30mm rise bar fixed the front end.

Reach is pretty much exactly the same as my Enduro, HA is 66.5.

I very well might pull that 12spd stuff off and go to the tried and true SRAM 11spd shifter + Shimano 11-42 cassette. Can't believe I am in agreement with @Lelandjt on this one.

Pics don't do the color justice, it is a lovely shit brown/dark purple with some glitter thrown in. Someone was on the mushrooms when picking this one for sure....

Thanks man it's weird how the photos are so washed out though, it's super green. TBH all that ground cover is a pretty bad invasive species taking over our local area. It does make a great photo though.

Had a friend get totally screwed on an online sale so we are surprising him w/ a fully re-painted and rebuilt dh bike. Got it back from powder last night and had our video savy friend shoot a little metal flake porn...

New ride for the wife with some story in it from my time @ Speshy; the frame was a field test sample that "slipped through QC" and when my buddy went to tighten the front shock bolt, the frame cracked. With the help of the in-house carbon whiz we slapped some uni prepreg pieces on there, heat shrink wrapped it, and baked it in the oven. I then fabricated some new metal parts for the shock mount (mucho burlier) and bonded them in.

The bike never was sold with a 142X12 rear end, only QR. There were six 142 rears ordered for testing purposes, and I probably ended up distributing most of the them to rippers around the world and kept one for myself.

The blue basher was one of about 20 I cut down for Sam Hill when he came on board to Specialized. He would run either a 30t or 32t front ring on this Demo, so e*13 sent me a stack of bashers to cut down to size (since the smallest they made at the time was for a 34t). I also machined 6-8 custom boomerang pieces of out 7075 to attach the plastic upper and lower chain guide parts to. Mini e*13 guides in 2009!

A Vorsprung Corset for the turdy RP23, X Fusion beast w/ 20mm thru axle up front, and a Praxis 11-40 10 speed cassette to go with the 30t front ring.

Stoked to have this beast back up and running, even with the short-by-modern-standards-front-end it's a ripper!

Just fitted brand new bushings, pivots and dw-link to wife's Turner Burner as the old ones were definitely due to be replaced. Also fitted a "new" shock that @CrabJoe StretchPants very kindly gave to me.

I didn't ream so far actually and used a seatpost shim from 31.4 to 27.2mm. My 27.2 dropper has around 100mm (about 4 inches) of drop which seemed plenty on the shake down ride and also considering the xc-trail intentions of the bike.

I actually scored a second hand Swedish made set of reamers while I waited for the delayed fork. New tools-day is a bit like new bike day

I've got another ccdb coil and a avalanche woodie for it. Lol and got the ccdb air dialed my weight works with it...but coil feels better for sure

If you go back to this post several others commented on having problems with their stems, primarily having them slip. Pretty sure mine broke because the bore was out of round.

Well shit I was thinking avoid X4 Thomson so due to cracking on face plate...I have had a good run with my renthal integrated....don't need slipping....guess it'll go for sale and I'll find a e13 similar design I like the looks of it .

I'll have to read that area for sure....it is weird how the clamp has to slide over then up to where it mounts on bar...I thought that was odd .but it's renthal...had good luck with em on my mx

Considering your size and style you may want to consider an ape grade stem like a Chromag.

I looked at those what If I surfaced the stem contact points mildly to give it bite...

I'll swap my integrated renthal to my deity zero stack integrated (love that one)...I'll look and see if they have a matching clamp style as well...

Well looks like I'll be hunting for another stem today I'll beat on this one and see if I can fold it forward today....
